व्याधि-गुण-साम्योपदेशः | Discourse on Affliction, Guṇa-Equilibrium, and the Inner Battle
शरीरे जायते व्याधि: शारीर: स निगद्यते । मानसे जायते व्याधिमानसस्तु निगद्यते,शरीरमें जो रोग उत्पन्न होता है, उसे शारीरिक रोग कहते हैं और मनमें जो व्याधि होती है, वह मानसिक रोग कहलाती है
śarīre jāyate vyādhiḥ śārīraḥ sa nigadyate | mānase jāyate vyādhiḥ mānasaḥ tu nigadyate ||
Vāyu-deva said: “A disease that arises in the body is called a bodily ailment; and a disease that arises in the mind is called a mental ailment.”
वायुदेव उवाच
It distinguishes two domains of suffering—physical ailments of the body and mental afflictions of the mind—so that one can recognize their different causes and appropriate remedies.
