अध्याय ९ — धृतराष्ट्रस्य युधिष्ठिरं प्रति राजनित्युपदेशः
Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Counsel on Royal Policy to Yudhiṣṭhira
साधु साध्विति सर्व: स जन: प्रतिगृहीतवान् । वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं--जनमेजय! साम्बके धर्मानुकूल और उत्तम गुणयुक्त वचन सुनकर समस्त प्रजा उन्हें सादर साधुवाद देने लगी तथा सबने उनकी बातका अनुमोदन किया
sādhu sādhv iti sarvaḥ sa janaḥ pratigṛhītavān |
Vaiśampāyana said: Hearing those words—aligned with dharma and marked by noble qualities—the entire assembly of people responded with respectful acclaim, saying “Well said, well said,” and accepted and endorsed what had been spoken.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Speech grounded in dharma and good qualities naturally earns communal respect and acceptance; ethical counsel is validated not by force but by its alignment with righteousness and its beneficial intent.
After hearing a dharma-consistent and commendable statement, the gathered people voice approval—“sādhu, sādhu”—and collectively endorse the speaker’s words.
