Vaiśaṃpāyana said: Then all of them, having conferred together, condensed their words; and, O King, placing the responsibility of speaking upon a single brāhmaṇa, they addressed the lord of men (the king) through him. The scene underscores a deliberate, orderly approach to counsel—entrusting speech to a qualified spokesman so that the message is conveyed with restraint and propriety.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Collective counsel should be conveyed with discipline: after deliberation, speech is summarized and entrusted to a competent, respected spokesman, reflecting restraint (saṃyama) and propriety in addressing authority.
A group consults among themselves, compresses their message, and appoints one brāhmaṇa to speak on their behalf to the king, ensuring an orderly and authoritative presentation.
