Shloka 63

धृतराष्ट्रस्य वनप्रस्थानानुज्ञा | Permission for Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Forest-Retirement

तद्‌ वो हृदि न कर्तव्यं मया बद्धोडयमञ्जलि: । उस अवसरपर मुझसे भला या बुरा जो कुछ भी कृत्य हो गया, उसे आपलोग अपने मनमें न लावें। इसके लिये मैं आपलोगोंसे हाथ जोड़कर क्षमा-प्रार्थना करता हूँ

tad vo hṛdi na kartavyaṃ mayā baddho ’yam añjaliḥ | asmin avasare mayā bhalaṃ vā pāpaṃ vā yat kiñcid api kṛtaṃ syāt, tat sarvaṃ yuṣmābhiḥ manasi na nidhātavyam; etad-arthaṃ yuṣmān prati aham añjaliṃ baddhvā kṣamā-prārthanāṃ karomi ||

“Do not keep this in your hearts; I stand before you with folded hands. Whatever good or ill I may have done on this occasion, do not hold it in your minds. For this reason I beg your forgiveness with joined palms.”
