Kuntī–Vyāsa Dialogue on Durvāsā’s Boon and Karṇa’s Birth
ततो<5वगाहा सलिले सर्वे ते नरपुड्रवा: । युयुत्सुमग्रत: कुत्वा ददुस्तोयं महात्मने,उन सभी श्रेष्ठ पुरुषोंने गंगाजीके जलमें स्नान करके युयुत्सुको आगे रखते हुए महात्मा धृतराष्ट्रके लिये जलांजलि दी
tato ’vagāhā salile sarve te narapuṅgavāḥ | yuyutsum agrataḥ kṛtvā dadus toyaṃ mahātmane dhṛtarāṣṭrāya ||
Then all those foremost of men immersed themselves in the water; placing Yuyutsu in the forefront, they offered the water-oblation to the great-souled Dhṛtarāṣṭra.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Even after devastating conflict, dharma expresses itself through honoring the dead and fulfilling ritual and familial obligations; righteous conduct includes respectful remembrance and reconciliation rather than continued hostility.
The assembled eminent men bathe in the river and, with Yuyutsu placed at the front, perform a water-oblation (tarpana/udaka-kriyā) for Dhṛtarāṣṭra, acknowledging his passing and offering final respects.
