निर्याणं धृतराष्ट्स्य शोक: समभवन्महान्‌ | वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं--जनमेजय! राजा धृतराष्ट्रका यह परलोकगमनका समाचार सुनकर उन सभी महामना पाण्डवोंको बड़ा शोक हुआ

Transliteration

niryāṇaṃ dhṛtarāṣṭrasya śokaḥ samabhavan mahān | vaiśampāyana uvāca—janamejaya! rājā dhṛtarāṣṭrasya para-loka-gamana-samācāraṃ śrutvā te sarve mahāmanāḥ pāṇḍavā mahān śokam āpannāḥ |

Translation

Vaiśampāyana said: “O Janamejaya, when the news was heard that King Dhṛtarāṣṭra had departed for the next world, a great sorrow arose. All those noble-minded Pāṇḍavas were overwhelmed with deep grief.”
