Adhyāya 32: Tāpasānāṃ Darśanaṃ — Ascetics Seek to Identify the Pāṇḍavas
स यशः प्राप्तुयाल्लोके परत्र च शुभां गतिम् । इतना ही नहीं
sa yaśaḥ prāptuyāl loke paratra ca śubhāṃ gatim | svādhyāyayuktā manujās tapoyuktāś ca bhārata bhārata |
Vaiśaṃpāyana said: “Whoever causes this account to be heard by learned men—being himself foremost among the knowers of dharma—wins renown in this world and attains a blessed destiny in the next. Moreover, he will effortlessly be reunited with dear kinsmen and will not be afflicted by sorrow or grief.”

The passage teaches that transmitting and hearing a dharma-centered narrative is itself a meritorious act: the learned narrator gains fame here and an auspicious destiny hereafter, while disciplined listeners—marked by self-study, austerity, charity, truthfulness, and non-violence—also attain an elevated spiritual end.
Vaiśaṃpāyana concludes a section by stating the fruits (phalaśruti) of reciting and listening to this ‘wondrous parvan’: the reciter earns worldly honor and otherworldly welfare, and virtuous hearers likewise gain the highest course, free from grief and reunited with loved ones.
