सुभद्रा कृष्णभगिनी तच्चापि विदितं मम | “श्रीकृष्णकी बहन सुभद्रा अपने पुत्र अभिमन्युके मारे जानेका जो दुःसह दुःख हृदयमें धारण करती है, वह भी मुझसे अज्ञात नहीं है
subhadrā kṛṣṇabhaginī taccāpi viditaṃ mama |
Vaiśampāyana said: “Subhadrā, the sister of Kṛṣṇa—this too is known to me: the unbearable sorrow she carries in her heart over the slaying of her son Abhimanyu is not unknown to me.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse foregrounds compassionate recognition of others’ suffering: true moral vision (dharma) includes acknowledging the hidden burdens borne by family members after war, not only the public losses.
Vaiśampāyana notes that Subhadrā’s intense, inward grief—caused by the death of her son Abhimanyu—is fully known to him, as part of recounting the lingering sorrows that remain even after the great events of the war.
