Vaiśampāyana uvāca: Devarṣibhiḥ sevito mahātejasvī vipravaro bhagavān Vyāso ’pi śiṣyaiḥ saha āgatya rājānaṃ darśayām āsa. Tataḥ sa rājā Kauravyaḥ Kuntīputraś ca vīryavān, Bhīmasenādayaś caiva pratyutthāya abhivādayan. Vaiśampāyana said: The blessed sage Vyāsa—supremely radiant, the foremost of brahmins, and attended by divine seers—came there with his disciples and granted the king an audience. Then the Kuru king, the valiant son of Kuntī (Yudhiṣṭhira), and Bhīmasena and the others rose to receive them and offered respectful salutations; thus, at that moment, Dhṛtarāṣṭra of the Kuru line, Yudhiṣṭhira, and Bhīma with the rest stood up and bowed to the arriving great sages.
