एवं कथाभिरन्वास्य धृतराष्ट्रं मनीषिण: । विप्रजग्मुर्यथाकामं ते सिद्धगतिमास्थिता:
evaṁ kathābhir anvāsya dhṛtarāṣṭraṁ manīṣiṇaḥ | viprajagmur yathākāmaṁ te siddhagatiṁ āsthitāḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana said: Thus, by consoling Dhṛtarāṣṭra with their instructive narratives, those wise sages—having attained the perfected course of the accomplished—departed as they wished to various destinations.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Wise counsel—especially in the form of dharmic narratives—can pacify sorrow and reorient a person toward steadiness and renunciation; the sages exemplify detachment by departing freely after fulfilling their compassionate duty.
After speaking consoling and instructive stories to Dhṛtarāṣṭra, the assembled sages, established in a perfected spiritual course (siddha-gati), leave and go their separate ways according to their own will.
