धृतराष्ट्रस्य सत्कारः — Dhṛtarāṣṭra Honored in the Post-war Court
सदा हि गत्वा ते वीरा: पर्युपासन्त त॑ नृपम् । पादाभिवादन कृत्वा धर्मराजमते स्थिता:
sadā hi gatvā te vīrāḥ paryupāsanta taṁ nṛpam | pādābhivādanaṁ kṛtvā dharmarājamate sthitāḥ ||
Those heroes would go to the king every day and attend upon him. Having bowed at his feet, they would sit for a while in service, remaining ever guided by the counsel and command of Dharmarāja Yudhiṣṭhira—thus showing disciplined reverence toward the aged king Dhṛtarāṣṭra.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights dharmic conduct after conflict: disciplined humility, service, and reverence toward elders and former authority figures, carried out under righteous leadership (Yudhiṣṭhira’s guidance).
The Pāṇḍava heroes regularly go to King Dhṛtarāṣṭra, bow at his feet, and sit in attendance for some time, acting in accordance with Dharmarāja Yudhiṣṭhira’s direction.
