इन्द्र रवाच न मया भगवल्लॉमभाद्धूतं पुष्करमद्य वै । धर्मास्तु श्रोतुकामेन ह्तं न क्रोद्भयुमहसि
indra uvāca na mayā bhagavan lomaśād dhūtaṃ puṣkaram adya vai | dharmās tu śrotukāmena hṛtaṃ na krodhabhayumahasi ||
Indra said: “O venerable one, today I have not taken away Puṣkara from Lomaśa. If you are eager to hear about dharma, you should not, out of anger or fear, seize it away.”
अगस्त्य उवाच
A seeker of dharma should not act under the sway of anger or fear; ethical understanding requires calm restraint rather than impulsive seizure or retaliation.
Indra responds in dialogue, denying that he has taken Puṣkara from the sage Lomaśa and admonishing that one who wishes to hear dharma should not behave rashly out of anger or fear.
