पशुसख उवाच पशून्‌ रज्जामि दृष्टवाहं पशूनां च सदा सखा | गौणं पशुसखेत्येवं विद्धि मामग्निसम्भवे,पशुसखने कहा--आगसे पैदा हुई कृत्ये! मैं पशुओंको प्रसन्न रखता हूँ और उनका प्रिय सखा हूँ; इस गुणके अनुसार मेरा नाम पशुसख है

Paśusakha uvāca: paśūn rajjāmi dṛṣṭavāhaṃ paśūnāṃ ca sadā sakhā | gauṇaṃ paśusakhety evaṃ viddhi mām agnisambhave ||

Paśusakha said: “I gladden the animals and I am ever their friendly companion. Therefore, know that my name ‘Paśusakha’ is a descriptive one, born of this very quality—O Kṛtyā, sprung from fire.”
