वसिष्ठ उवाच
The verse teaches that generous, respectful charity—here, gifting a strong bull adorned with valuables—produces great religious merit (puṇya) and leads to exalted posthumous destinations, specifically the realms associated with the Maruts.
Vasiṣṭha addresses a king and describes the फल (result) of a particular act of dāna: donating a broad-backed bull decorated with jewels. He states that the donor attains the worlds of the Maruts, presenting a merit-to-reward linkage typical of Anuśāsana Parva’s teachings on gifts and dharma.
