Brahmā–Indra–Surabhi Itihāsa

समानवत्सां श्वेतां तु धेनुं दत्त्वा पयस्विनीम्‌ । सुव्रतां वस्त्रसंवीतामिन्द्रलोके महीयते,जो मानव दूध देनेवाली सुलक्षणा श्वेत वर्णकी गौको वस्त्र ओढ़ाकर श्वेत वर्णके बछड़ेसहित दान करता है, उसे इन्द्रलोकमें सम्मान प्राप्त होता है

samānavatsāṁ śvetāṁ tu dhenuṁ dattvā payasvinīm | suvratāṁ vastrasaṁvītām indraloke mahīyate ||

Vasiṣṭha said: One who donates a milk-yielding white cow, accompanied by a calf of the same kind, and who is well-conducted and properly covered with a cloth, is honored in Indra’s world.
