Shloka 46

कान्तारे ब्राह्मणान्‌ गाश्न यः परित्राति कौशिक । क्षणेन विप्रमुच्येत तस्य पुण्यफलं शृणु,इन्द्र! जो दुर्गम वनमें फँसे हुए ब्राह्मण और गौओंका उद्धार करता है, वह एक ही क्षणमें समस्त पापोंसे मुक्त हो जाता है तथा उसे जिस पुण्यफलकी प्राप्ति होती है, वह भी सुन लो

Bhīṣma said: “O Kauśika (Indra), whoever rescues brāhmaṇas and cows stranded in a harsh and difficult forest is, in a single moment, freed from all sins. Hear also the meritorious reward that he attains.”
