एतत् ते सर्वमाख्यातं निपुणेन सुरेश्वर । गोप्रदानरतानां तु फलं शृणु शतक्रतो,सुरेश्वर! शतक्रतो! यह सब मैंने तुम्हें विशेषरूपसे गोलोकका माहात्म्य बताया है। अब गोदान करनेवालोंको जो फल प्राप्त होता है, उसे सुनो
etat te sarvam ākhyātaṁ nipuṇena sureśvara | gopradānaratānāṁ tu phalaṁ śṛṇu śatakrato ||
Bhīṣma said: “O lord of the gods, I have explained all this to you in detail and with precision. Now, O Śatakratu, listen to the fruit that accrues to those who delight in the gift of cows.”
पितामह उवाच
The verse frames cow-gifting (go-pradāna) as a significant dharmic act and signals a shift from praising Goloka to explaining the specific spiritual merit (phala) gained by those devoted to such charity.
Bhīṣma, addressing Indra (called Sureśvara and Śatakratu), concludes a detailed account of Goloka’s greatness and introduces the next topic: the results promised to donors of cows.
