ब्राह्मणांस्तर्पयन् द्रव्यैस्ततो यज्ञे यतव्रतः । मैत्रान् साधून् वेदविद: शीलवृत्ततपोर्जितान्,तुम नियमपूर्वक यज्ञमें सुशील, सदाचारी, तपस्वी, वेदवेत्ता, सबसे मैत्री रखनेवाले तथा साधु स्वभाववाले ब्राह्मणोंको धन देकर संतुष्ट करो
Transliteration
bhīṣma uvāca | brāhmaṇāṁs tarpayann dravyais tato yajñe yatavrataḥ | maitrān sādhūn vedavidaḥ śīla-vṛtta-tapo-rjitān ||
Translation
Then, while performing the sacrifice with disciplined vows, satisfy the Brahmins by giving them wealth—those who are friendly to all, of saintly disposition, learned in the Vedas, and endowed with good conduct, right livelihood, and austerity.
