अजुगुप्सांश्व विज्ञाय ब्राह्म॒णान् वृत्तिकर्शितान्
ajugupsāṁś ca vijñāya brāhmaṇān vṛttikarśitān
Bhīṣma said: “Recognizing those brāhmaṇas who were free from blame and whose livelihood had been worn down by hardship…”
भीष्म उवाच
One should discern worthy recipients—those of good conduct and without blame—and respond ethically to visible hardship, especially when people are distressed in their basic livelihood.
