samyag ārādhitaḥ putra tvayā pravadatāṃ vara
Bhīṣma said: “My son, you have duly and properly honored (the one you approached). Therefore, choose the best boon from among those that may be granted.”

Proper reverence and sincere service (ārādhana) bear fruit: when one honors a worthy person or deity in the right way, one becomes fit to receive a boon or benefit. The verse highlights the ethical link between conduct and reward.
Bhīṣma addresses the listener as ‘son’ and acknowledges that the person approached has been properly propitiated. On that basis, he indicates that a boon may now be chosen—signaling a moment of reward following correct devotion or respectful conduct.
