अध्याय ५६ — च्यवन–कुशिकसंवादः
Cyavana–Kuśika Dialogue on Lineage, Conflict, and Transmission
वे फिर यथास्थान खड़े होकर मुनिके पैर दबाने लगे। अबकी बार वे महामुनि दूसरी करवटसे सोये थे ।।
tenaiva ca sa kālena pratyabuddhyata vīryavān | na ca tau cakratuḥ kiñcid vikāraṃ bhayaśaṅkitau ||
Bhishma said: After that same interval, the mighty sage awoke again. The king and the queen, anxious with fear of him, did not allow even the slightest change of expression or conduct to arise within themselves, and continued their service as before.
भीष्म उवाच
Even under fear or pressure, one should maintain self-control and steadiness in conduct; dharmic service requires composure and absence of reactive ‘vikāra’ (disturbance).
The powerful sage (Chyavana) wakes after the same span of sleep. The king and queen, wary of offending him, keep their demeanor unchanged and continue attending to him without showing agitation.
