Bhishma said: Then, having entered the city, he duly performed the prescribed morning rites. After taking his meal together with his wife, that radiant king spent the night in the palace—acting with orderly discipline and propriety in the conduct of daily life.
भीष्म उवाच
The verse underscores dharmic order in a ruler’s life: even amid royal responsibilities, one should observe prescribed daily rites and maintain disciplined, proper conduct in household life.
A radiant king enters the city, completes the forenoon/morning observances, eats with his wife, and then spends the night in the palace, marking a transition into routine, orderly domestic and civic life.
