श्रिय एता: स्त्रियो नाम सत्कार्या भूतिमिच्छता । पालिता निगृहीता च श्री: स्त्री भवति भारत

Transliteration

śriya etāḥ striyo nāma satkāryā bhūtim icchatā | pālitā nigṛhītā ca śrīḥ strī bhavati bhārata ||

Translation

Bhīṣma said: “Women are, as it were, embodiments of prosperity. Therefore, one who seeks welfare and flourishing should honor them. When they are protected and also rightly restrained within the bounds of dharma, prosperity itself abides in the household through the woman, O Bhārata.”
