Vipula’s Guru-Obedience, Divine Flowers, and the Peril of Others’ Oaths (विपुलोपाख्यानम्—पुष्पप्राप्तिः शपथ-प्रसङ्गश्च)
स्त्रीबुद्ध्या न विशिष्येत तास्तु रक्ष्या: कथं नरै: । जिस नीतिशास्त्रको शुक्राचार्य जानते हैं, जिसे बृहस्पति जानते हैं, वह भी स्त्रीकी बुद्धिसे बढ़कर नहीं है। ऐसी स्त्रियोंकी रक्षा पुरुष कैसे कर सकते हैं ।।
A woman’s understanding is not inferior to anything; yet women are said to be guarded—how can men guard them? Even the science of right conduct and policy known to Śukrācārya, known to Bṛhaspati, does not surpass a woman’s intellect. How, then, can men protect such women? And it is said: the untrue is called true, and the true likewise is called untrue.
