श्रुत्वा च नावजानामि नापराध्यामि कर्हिचित् । अभ्यर्च्यभ्यनुपृच्छामि पादौ गृह्नामि धीमताम्,सुनकर उनके वचनोंकी अवहेलना नहीं करता। कभी उनका अपराध नहीं करता। उनकी पूजा करके कुशल पूछता हूँ और बुद्धिमान ब्राह्मणोंके पाँव पकड़ता हूँ
śrutvā ca nāvajānāmi nāparādhyāmi karhicit | abhyarcyābhyānupṛcchāmi pādau gṛhṇāmi dhīmatām ||
Having listened, I do not slight them, nor do I ever offend them. After honoring them, I inquire after their welfare, and I clasp the feet of the wise—especially the discerning brāhmaṇas—showing reverence and restraint as my rule of conduct.
