When the wind, moistened by the waves of the Gaṅgā, touches a person’s body, it immediately draws away and destroys that person’s sin.
सिद्ध उवाच
Association with the sacred—especially the Gaṅgā—has immediate purificatory power; even indirect contact (wind carrying Gaṅgā’s moisture) is portrayed as capable of removing sin, reinforcing faith in tīrtha-purification and moral renewal.
A Siddha states a praise of the Gaṅgā: the breeze that has been wetted by her waves, upon touching a person, instantly removes that person’s pāpa (sin/impurity).
