Bhishma said: Thus that perfected sage, supremely intelligent and radiant, instructed in many ways the virtuous Brahmin who lived by śilavṛtti (gleaning what grains remained), and having fully described the true and manifold qualities of Tripathagā—the Gaṅgā who moves along three paths—entered the vast expanse of the sky.
भीष्म उवाच
Truthful, comprehensive instruction in dharma—here expressed as an accurate account of Gaṅgā’s virtues—has transformative power: it refines understanding, reinforces ethical conduct, and is linked with spiritual accomplishment (siddhi).
A radiant perfected sage concludes his discourse by fully describing Tripathagā Gaṅgā’s genuine qualities and instructing a virtuous Brahmin; after completing this teaching, he departs by entering the sky, marking the end of the episode.
