Shloka 6

अहिंसयित्वा ब्रह्महत्याविधानम् / Brahmahatyā incurred without physical violence

भीष्म उवाच न ब्राह्मण: साधयते हव्यं दैवात्‌ प्रसिद्ध्यति । देवप्रसादादिज्यन्ते यजमानैर्न संशय:,भीष्मजीने कहा--बेटा! यज्ञ-होम आदि देवकार्यकी सिद्धि ब्राह्मणके अधीन नहीं है, वह दैवसे सिद्ध होता है। देवताओंकी कृपासे ही यजमान यज्ञ करते हैं। इसमें संशय नहीं है

Bhishma said: “My son, the success of rites offered to the gods—such as sacrifice (yajña) and fire-offerings (homa)—does not rest in the Brahmin’s control; it is accomplished by divine dispensation (daiva). By the gods’ grace alone the sacrificers (yajamāna) perform the yajña—of this there is no doubt.”
