Bhishma said: Having returned home and taken rest, and after inquiring of his own people, he then went again—acting in accordance with what is just—to that Brahmin, O joy of the Kurus. The verse underscores a deliberate return to rightful conduct: rest and consultation are followed by a conscious choice to proceed by fairness and propriety toward the learned guest.

Educational Q&A

One should act nyāyataḥ—according to justice and propriety—especially in dealings with the learned and worthy; reflection, rest, and consultation should culminate in a deliberate return to righteous action.

After coming home and resting, the person consults or checks with his family and then goes back again to the Brahmin, emphasizing a purposeful approach grounded in fairness and correct procedure.
