Aṣṭāvakra–Strī-saṃvāda: Dhṛti, hospitality, and a dispute on autonomy

पूर्वे तत्र महापाश्वे देवस्योत्तरतस्तथा । ऋतव: कालरात्रिश्व ये दिव्या ये च मानुषा:,महादेवजीके पूर्व तथा उत्तर भागमें महापार्श्व नामक पर्वत है, जहाँ ऋतु, कालरात्रि तथा दिव्य और मानुषभाव सब-के-सब मूर्तिमान्‌ होकर महादेवजीकी उपासना करते हैं। उस स्थानको लाँघकर तुम आगे बढ़ते ही चले जाना

pūrve tatra mahāpārśve devasyottaratas tathā | ṛtavaḥ kālarātriś ca ye divyā ye ca mānuṣāḥ ||

To the east stands the great mountain called Mahāpārśva, and likewise to the north of the Lord. There the Seasons and Kālarātri—both in their divine and human manifestations—stand embodied and worship Mahādeva. Having crossed that sacred region, you should continue onward without stopping.
