तुल्यं मम सहस्र॑ तु सुतानां ब्रह्मवादिनाम्‌ । आयुश्चैव सपुत्रस्य संवत्सरशतायुतम्‌,गर्गने कहा--पाण्डुनन्दन! मैंने सरस्वतीके तटपर मानस यज्ञ करके भगवान्‌ शिवको संतुष्ट किया था। इससे प्रसन्न होकर उन्होंने मुझे चौंसठ कलाओंका अदभुत ज्ञान प्रदान किया। मुझे मेरे ही समान एक सहसखतर ब्रह्मवादी पुत्र दिये तथा पुत्रोंसहित मेरी दस लाख वर्षकी आयु नियत कर दी

Transliteration

tulyaṃ mama sahasraṃ tu sutānāṃ brahmavādinām | āyuś caiva saputrasya saṃvatsaraśatāyutam ||

Translation

Garga said: “I have a thousand sons, all brahma-vādins, equal to me in stature and learning; and my lifespan, together with my sons, has been fixed at a hundred ayutas of years.”
