Chapter 2: Sudarśana Upākhyāna — Atithi-Dharma and the Conquest of Mṛtyu
Gṛhastha-Vrata
सुदर्शनस्तु रूपेण पूर्णेन्दुसद्शोपम: । शिशुरेवाध्यगात् सर्व परं ब्रह्म सनातनम्
Sudarśanas tu rūpeṇa pūrṇendu-sadṛśopamaḥ | śiśur evādhyagāt sarvaṁ paraṁ brahma sanātanam ||
Bhīṣma said: “Sudarśana, radiant in form like the full moon, though still only a child, came to realize everything—attaining the supreme, eternal Brahman.”
भीष्म उवाच
True realization of the supreme, eternal Brahman is not limited by age or social status; inner purity and insight can lead even a child to the highest knowledge.
Bhīṣma praises Sudarśana’s extraordinary spiritual attainment, describing his luminous appearance and stating that, despite being a child, he realized all and reached the supreme Brahman.
