Vāyu said: The devotee who lives in purity, remains constantly disciplined in yoga, and praises Lord Śiva with these nourishing, strength-giving names, attains that Supreme Self—Śiva—by his own devoted practice.
वायुदेव उवाच
Steady yoga-discipline and inner purity, expressed through sincere praise of Śiva using sacred epithets, becomes a direct means to attain the Supreme—showing that devotion is effective when grounded in ethical purification and consistent practice.
Vāyudeva is describing the fruit of a particular mode of Śiva-worship: a devotee who continually praises Śiva with ‘strength-giving’ names, while living purely and remaining yogically disciplined, is said to reach Śiva Himself.
