Upamanyu said: “With the names taught by Brahmā, proclaimed by the seers, and arising from the Vedas and their auxiliary disciplines, I shall now praise the Lord—renowned in all worlds and worthy of adoration.”
वायुदेव उवाच
True praise of the Divine should be grounded in authoritative tradition—names and epithets transmitted through Brahmā, the sages, and the Vedic corpus—showing reverence, humility, and fidelity to dharma.
Upamanyu announces his intention to begin a hymn of praise, stating that he will glorify the Lord using well-known sacred names derived from Brahmā, the ṛṣis, and the Vedas with their Vedāṅgas.
