Vāyu said: “This instruction should be given only to one who is devoted, faithful, and a believer. It should not be taught to one who lacks faith, denies the sacred, or has not mastered himself. And, O Kṛṣṇa, whoever looks with fault-finding envy upon the divine Lord—Mahādeva, the causal ground of the world—falls into hell, together with his ancestors and his own offspring.”

Educational Q&A

Sacred instruction should be offered only to qualified recipients—devoted, faithful, and dharma-affirming people. Fault-finding envy toward the supreme divine cause (here identified with Mahādeva) is condemned as a grave offense with severe karmic consequences.

Vāyudeva addresses Kṛṣṇa, laying down a rule of eligibility for transmitting a religious teaching and warning against disparaging the Lord who is the causal ground of the universe, stating that such hostility leads to downfall affecting one’s lineage.
