vāyudeva uvāca | jahi daityān saha puraiḥ lokāṃs trāyasva mānada | tadanantaraṃ tatra padhāre hue sampūrṇa mahāmanā devatāoṃ ne rudradeva se kahā— “bhagavan rudra! paśutulya asur asmākaṃ samasta karmoṃ ke liye bhayaṅkara ho gaye haiṃ aur bhaviṣya meṃ bhī ye asmān bhayadā bhaviṣyanti. ataḥ mānada! asmākaṃ prārthanā hai ki āp trīṇi purāṇi saha sarvaiḥ daityaiḥ vināśaya, lokān ca rakṣaya.”

Vāyu said: “Slay the Daityas along with their cities; protect the worlds, O bestower of honor.” Thereafter, all the great-minded gods who had arrived there addressed Rudra: “Blessed Rudra! These beast-like Asuras have become a dreadful menace to all our sacred works, and in the future too they will continue to threaten us. Therefore, O noble one, we beseech you: destroy all the Daityas together with their three cities, and safeguard the worlds.”
