इत्युक्तो5हं शरीरं स्वं ददर्श श्रीसमायुतम् । 'परंतु यह खीर तुमने अपने पैरोंके तलवोंमें नहीं लगायी है। बेटा! तुमने ऐसा क्यों किया? तुम्हारा यह कार्य मुझे प्रिय नहीं लगा।” इस प्रकार जब उन्होंने मुझसे प्रसन्नतापूर्वक कहा
ity ukto ’haṁ śarīraṁ svaṁ dadarśa śrī-samāyutam |
Vāyu said: “Thus addressed, I beheld my own body endowed with auspicious splendor.” In context, the speaker recalls being gently corrected for an incomplete act of reverence (not applying the offered kṣīra to the soles), and the pleased admonition becomes a moral cue: wholehearted, not partial, observance of what is enjoined brings inner and outer refinement—symbolized by the sudden radiance of the body.
वायुदेव उवाच
That dharmic acts should be performed fully and respectfully; even a small omission in a prescribed or reverential act is worth correcting, and sincere compliance invites auspicious transformation (here shown as the body becoming radiant).
After being spoken to (in a pleased yet corrective manner), Vāyu reports that he then saw his own body become endowed with śrī—an auspicious, wondrous luster—indicating the effect of approval/blessing following proper conduct.
