अश्रिभ्यां सह सोमं च पिबाम विगतज्वरा: । फिर तो मदके मुखमें पड़े हुए देवताओंने आपसमें सलाह करके इन्द्रसे कहा --'देवराज! आप विप्रवर च्यवनको प्रणाम कीजिये (इनसे विरोध करना अच्छा नहीं है)। हमलोग निश्रिन्त होकर अश्विनीकुमारोंके साथ सोमपान करेंगे”
aśribhyāṁ saha somaṁ ca pibāma vigatajvarāḥ |
Cyavana said: “Let us drink the Soma together with the Aśvins, free from all fever and distress.” In the surrounding narrative, the gods—alarmed by the consequences of opposing the sage—counsel Indra to bow to Cyavana, so that they may safely partake of Soma along with the Aśvin twins.
च्यवन उवाच
Even the powerful must practice humility before spiritual merit (tapas) and dharma; wise counsel avoids needless conflict, and rightful inclusion in ritual is secured through respect rather than force.
Cyavana declares that Soma will be drunk together with the Aśvins without fear or affliction. In context, the gods, shaken by the danger of opposing the sage, advise Indra to salute Cyavana so they can safely share Soma with the Aśvin twins.
