Mahabharata — Anushasana Parva, Shloka 306

aśribhyāṁ saha somaṁ ca pibāma vigatajvarāḥ |

Cyavana said: “Let us drink the Soma together with the Aśvins, free from all fever and distress.” In the surrounding narrative, the gods—alarmed by the consequences of opposing the sage—counsel Indra to bow to Cyavana, so that they may safely partake of Soma along with the Aśvin twins.

Educational Q&A

Even the powerful must practice humility before spiritual merit (tapas) and dharma; wise counsel avoids needless conflict, and rightful inclusion in ritual is secured through respect rather than force.

Cyavana declares that Soma will be drunk together with the Aśvins without fear or affliction. In context, the gods, shaken by the danger of opposing the sage, advise Indra to salute Cyavana so they can safely share Soma with the Aśvin twins.
