साहं त्यक्त्वा गमिष्यामि भूमित्व॑ं ब्रह्मण: पदम् | अयं सराष्ट्रो नृपतिर्मा भूदिति ततोडगमत्
Translation
The Earth resolved: “If this king harbours such a thought, then I too shall abandon my duty of upholding the world—my dharma as the ground that bears all—and depart to the station of Brahmā, so that this ruler, with his realm, may perish.” Having so determined, the Earth went away.
