अध्याय १६ — शङ्कर-उमा-वरदानम् तथा तण्डि-स्तुतिः (Śaṅkara–Umā Boon-Granting and Taṇḍi’s Hymn)
रात्यहः:श्रोत्रनयन: पक्षमासशिरो भुज: । ऋतुवीर्यस्तपोधैर्यो हृब्दगुह्दोौरुपादवान्,रात और दिन इनके कान और नेत्र हैं, पक्ष और मास इनके मस्तक और भुजाएंँ हैं, ऋतु वीर्य है, तपस्या धैर्य है तथा वर्ष गुह्मु-इन्द्रिय, ऊरु और पैर हैं
rātryahaḥ śrotranayane pakṣamāsaśiro bhujaḥ | ṛtuvīryas tapodhairyo hṛd-guhyendorupādavān ||
Vāyu said: “Night and day are his ears and eyes; the fortnight and the month are his head and arms. The seasons are his vigor; austerity is his steadfast endurance; and the year constitutes his hidden parts, thighs, and feet.”
