Bhishma said: By uttering the name of the Bhṛgus, dharma increases. By bowing to the sage Vasiṣṭha, one’s vigor and potency grow. A kṣatriya who pays homage to King Raghu becomes victorious in battle. And a person who invokes the Aśvinīkumāras is never afflicted by disease. The teaching links reverent remembrance of exemplary sages and divine healers with the cultivation of virtue, strength, victory, and health.

Reverent remembrance—through reciting revered names and offering salutations—cultivates specific virtues and protections: dharma through the Bhṛgus, vigor through honoring Vasiṣṭha, martial success through homage to Raghu, and freedom from disease through invoking the Aśvins.
In Bhīṣma’s instruction (anuśāsana), he lists exemplary figures—sage-lineages, a royal ideal, and divine physicians—and states the fruits (phala) gained by honoring them, presenting a practical ethic of devotion and emulation.
