अमानी मानदो मान्यो लोकस्वामी त्रिलोकधृक्‌ । सुमेधा मेधजो धन्य: सत्यमेधा धराधर:

Transliteration

amānī mānado mānyo lokasvāmī trilokadhṛk | sumedhā medhajo dhanyaḥ satyamedhā dharādharaḥ ||

Translation

Bhīṣma said: He is free from self-regard, yet he bestows honor on others; he is worthy of reverence. He is the Lord of the worlds, the sustainer of the three realms. Endowed with excellent intelligence, manifest in sacrifice, ever-blessed and deserving of gratitude, possessed of true and noble understanding, he upholds the earth—thus is the Supreme praised through these epithets.
