etat te devadevasya māhātmyaṃ kathitaṃ prabho | kapardino girīśasya mahābāho janārdana ||
Nārada said: “O Lord, I have now related to you the greatness of the God of gods—Kapardin, Girīśa. O mighty-armed Janārdana, this is the sacred account of his majesty that I have set forth before you.”
The verse underscores the religious value of hearing and transmitting māhātmya—sacred accounts of divine greatness—here emphasizing reverence for Śiva (Devadeva) while addressing Kṛṣṇa (Janārdana), reflecting a harmonizing, devotional ethic.
Nārada concludes (or pauses) his narration by telling Janārdana that he has finished recounting the greatness of Śiva, identified by epithets Kapardin and Girīśa.
