Śrī Maheśvara said: Those who are faithful, compassionate, and pure; who love the company of the pure; and who discern dharma and adharma attain the path to heaven. O Devī, those who understand the accumulated fruits of both auspicious and inauspicious deeds—who know how actions ripen into consequences—such persons go to the heavenly world.
श्रीमहेश्वर उवाच
Heavenward progress is linked to inner and social virtues—faith, compassion, purity, love of the virtuous—and to moral discernment: knowing dharma from adharma and understanding how actions (good and bad) accumulate and ripen into results.
Śrī Maheśvara addresses Devī, describing the qualities of people who attain svarga, emphasizing both character (śraddhā, dayā, śuddhi, sat-saṅga) and ethical insight into karmic consequences (śubha/aśubha karma-phala and their vipāka).
