शूद्रान्नवर्जनं धर्मस्तथा सत्पथसेवनम्‌ । धर्मो नित्योपवासित्वं॑ ब्रह्मचर्य तथैव च

Transliteration

śūdrānna-varjanaṁ dharmas tathā satpatha-sevanam | dharmo nityopavāsitvaṁ brahmacarya tathaiva ca ||

Translation

Śrī Maheśvara said: “For a brāhmaṇa, it is a duty to refrain from accepting food from a śūdra. Likewise, keeping to the good path—associating with and practicing righteous conduct—is dharma. So too are the disciplines of regular fasting and the observance of brahmacarya.”
