Rudra-Śiva: Names, Two Natures, and the Logic of Epithets (रुद्रनाम-बहुरूपत्व-प्रकरणम्)

तस्य धर्मक्रिया देवि ब्रह्म॒चर्या च न्‍न्यायतः । व्रतोपनयनं चैव द्विजो येनोपपद्यते

O Goddess, he should perform the rites of dharma and, in due and rightful manner, observe brahmacarya. The upanayana rite, undertaken with the keeping of the vow, is indispensable for him, for by that alone he becomes a dvija—one “twice-born.”
