भीष्म उवाच एवमुक्त: स भगवान् शैलपुत्रया पिनाकधृत् । तस्या धृत्या च बुद्ध्या च प्रीतिमानभवत् प्रभु:,भीष्मजी कहते हैं--राजन्! गिरिराजकुमारी उमाके इस प्रकार पूछनेपर पिनाकधारी भगवान् शिव उनके धैर्य और बुद्धिसे बहुत प्रसन्न हुए
bhīṣma uvāca evam uktaḥ sa bhagavān śailaputrayā pinākadhṛt | tasyā dhṛtyā ca buddhyā ca prītimān abhavat prabhuḥ ||
Bhishma said: Thus addressed by the mountain-born maiden, that blessed Lord—Shiva, bearer of the Pinaka bow—became deeply pleased with her, for her steadfastness and her discerning intelligence.
