ब्राह्मणपूजायां व्युष्टिः — Vyuṣṭi (Merit-Outcome) of Honoring Brāhmaṇas: Kṛṣṇa and Durvāsā
अस्य चैव समक्ष त्वं पार्थिवानां च सर्वश: । भ्रातृणां च प्रियार्थ मे स््नेहाद् भाषितुमरहसि
asya caiva samakṣa tvaṃ pārthivānāṃ ca sarvaśaḥ | bhrātṝṇāṃ ca priyārthaṃ me snehād bhāṣitum arhasi ||
Yudhiṣṭhira said: “In my very presence, and fully in the presence of all these kings as well, you ought—out of affection—to speak on this matter that has been asked, so as to bring what is dear and beneficial to me and to my brothers.”
युधिछिर उवाच
Instruction on dharma should be given openly and responsibly: the speaker is urged to explain the queried topic in a way that benefits the hearer and his brothers, motivated by goodwill (sneha) and aimed at true welfare (priyārtha), especially before rulers who can apply it in governance.
Yudhiṣṭhira requests an elder/teacher to speak on the subject that has been asked, doing so in his presence and before the assembled kings, with affectionate concern for what will be beneficial and dear to him and his brothers.
