तेषां प्रतिष्ठिता कीर्तियावत्‌ स्थास्यति मेदिनी । गृहस्थैर्दानतपसा यैलोंका वै विनिर्जिता:,जिन गृहस्थोंने दान और तपस्याके बलसे उत्तम लोकोंपर विजय पायी है, उनकी कीर्ति इस लोकमें तबतक प्रतिष्ठित रहेगी, जबतक कि यह पृथ्वी स्थिर रहेगी

Transliteration

teṣāṁ pratiṣṭhitā kīrtir yāvat sthāsyati medinī | gṛhasthair dāna-tapasā yaiḥ lokā vai vinirjitāḥ ||

Translation

Bhīṣma said: The fame of those householders who, through generosity and disciplined austerity, have won for themselves the highest worlds will remain firmly established in this world for as long as the earth endures.
