Bhishma said: Seated in a celestial chariot, he is honored and attended upon; divine maidens—supremely beautiful and sweet-speaking—worship him and provide him with the enjoyments of desire. The reward is said to shine like a hundred lotuses, enduring for a great aeon and ten more besides.
भीष्म उवाच
Bhīṣma emphasizes the doctrine of karma-phala: righteous or meritorious conduct yields exalted results, described here as heavenly honor, service, and long-lasting enjoyment—illustrating that actions have proportionate, enduring consequences.
Bhīṣma is describing the posthumous reward of a person who has earned great merit: the individual resides in a celestial vimāna and is worshipped and served by divine, beautiful, sweet-speaking women, enjoying pleasures for an immense span of time.
